The facebook feed has been flooded for about a week with formal photos, selfies, boomerangs, DPs, albums. My instagram feed has been unrelenting, every second post captioned with a cheeky 'Just another formal pic'. The hype is unreal and so is the fashion, so all I have to say is sorry, not sorry. Just some more formal pics.

As per usual, I left my shopping to the last minute after telling myself my outfit would be sorted before the holidays ended. However last minute shopping always seems to result in the most satisfactory finds and this timeless dress is no exception. The movement and layers in the skirt make the theatre, and the simplicity of the bold colour make it stand out. I went with gold for accessories to really accent the rich red of the dress and create that more lavish look.

I took a bit of a risk trying out exposed bobby pins in my hair for the first time but I absolutely loved the effect! It was different and comfortable and I feel like it completed the look.

I got my hair done by the lovely Brooke at Blunt and Co, and my makeup was by the incredible Isabella at Isabella Makeup; I would highly recommend both of these girls for your events. They were professional, speedy and did an amazing job, making me feel so at ease in their respective chairs. I will definitely be going back.
