I always say travelling is one of my favourite things. One day I’d like to travel the world, all that jazz. But when it comes down to actually organising it all, the plane tickets, the itinerary, the research, that’s where it all falls down like a stack of cards against a tornado. Worst of all is the packing. I like to call packing a bottomless pit of crisis, panic and stress. To my mum, it’s 5 all nighters in a row rifling through her wardrobe. To save all those wasted hours, I’m bringing to you my top tips for packing like a pro. Coming from a reformed packer who once went 10kg over the limit, I hope this helps.

• Write a list. This is literally my catch phrase for every situation in life, but it really is necessary so that you don’t forget everything, ad can have the satisfaction of ticking everything off at the end. • Pre-plan every outfit, for every single day and night of the trip. It sounds tedious, but it takes away all the excess clothes which you most definitely do not need, and means that you don’t need to work out what you’re wearing on the spot. • Only take 5 pairs of underwear and and 1 pair of pyjamas. • Roll your clothes, don’t fold them! This saves so much space and also allows you to pack in all your stuff much more densely. • In your suitcase, have compartments; use toiletry bags or canvas bags to store different things, so that you know where everything is at all times. • If you have any heavy, big garments, try and wear them on the journey to save space in your luggage. • Ensure that you have a carry on bag which is convenient to take anywhere. In it, have ALL your essentials. A book, spare socks, lip balm, headphones, charger, passport, whatever it is you need for the journey, keep it in the bag.

The only way to travel in style is if you pack in style. This morning I jetted off to Sydney knowing that I had the exact amount of clothes I needed, what I was wearing everyday, and all the basics of life, from my toothbrush to my favourite pair of pink socks. I’m looking forward to the week ahead, which will be full of blog posts and exploring. Get ready for The Wunder Blog’s Week In Sydney. Not quite a reality TV show, but close enough.

Love, Ingrid
