365 days is both a long time and a short time. Really, it depends on what perspective you are considering time from. In terms of a lifetime, 365 is relatively short. Every year, we marvel at how fast the days have gone, in the blink of an eye. For authors writing books, time rolls in different ways for each individual person. Sometimes it takes years, sometimes months, sometimes weeks. Watching whole season of Downton Abbey only takes one whole day. In terms of doing a day’s worth of homework, or writing a blog post, 365 days is far too long. These are tasks for hours, days, or at most weeks. So the short space of 365 days is more than ample time in which to develop and grow as a blogger.

365 days is also known to us as a year, as an important milestone. Years are symbolic of time passing. They symbolise the concept of age, or rather, growth. As we age, both in physical form and psychological state, we grow in our experiences in life. Today marks the 1st birthday, the 365 day anniversary of my first post on the wunder blog. 44 posts and many nonsensical sentences filled with my philosophy and wisdom later, we get to celebrate the first year of me attempting to appeal to you with my writing, photos and fashion/life advice.

Intriguingly close to my actual birthday, I see the wunder blog as an extension of myself. There is no digital façade, no boss and rarely any makeup to cover up myself. Obviously, 44 posts of me babbling on about lost jumpers, my bather obsession and other random things is not enough for you to understand me, but in my writing and my ideas displayed, most of which are spontaneously hatched and written in the moment before they are posted, hopefully you feel a connection with who I am as a person. When I’m not writing a structured English essay, my paragraphs are only paragraphs because I hit enter twice. Half my sentences don’t link, and I write what I think, and what flows. I know I use too many semi-colons, that my sentences are too long, and that I use commas in the weirdest way, as if I were speaking. Because that’s what I am doing; I am speaking to you guys, from my mind and from my typing fingers, something which I love to do.

There are many people and things that I see which inspire me to keep on working towards a higher level of blogging. At the moment, as a student with little time and little resources, I am constantly inspired by other bloggers, the likes of Margaret Zhang, who manage their personal lives side by side with their careers in fashion and in social media as digital influencers with such gusto, discipline and style. That is where I picture myself going every day; I have much to learn and much to improve on. All I know at the moment is that this is what I want to be doing. The wunder blog, or a version of it, will always stay with me.

44 posts down, and here’s to many more. So hang in there; we’re levelling up. Happy birthday to wunder, and enjoy my favourite moments captured over this wonderful year.

Love, Ingrid
