With only 4 hours left of summer, I think I am allowed to get ahead of the time and do a bit of an Autumn post.
Autumn is an odd season, a mix of warmth and humidity at the start line, but finishing in chilly nights, fluffy nightgowns and hot chocolates. This look embodies the cliche of falling leaves, a slight edge in the breeze and more comfortable days with a wider range of flexibility in outfits. A lot more can be done in terms of mix and match, think soft jumpers and skirts or denim and floaty tops.
With this outfit, the bold mustard sheer top perfectly balances the monochrome base. It screams elegance and has an edgy sass to it with the silhouette created by the top, as light as air, in contrast to the streamlined base layers. The stark white jeans brighten the look and perhaps would brighten up a potentially rainy day. Keeping the colour palette minimal ensures the flow of the garments together and ties up the outfit.
At the beginning of Autumn for us Melbournians, get excited for a soft, creamy colour range in stores, channeling early morning coffee, as well as the beginning of jumper season. Bid adieu to beach hair and that tan, and say hello to snuggles and hot chocolate, and of course, lots of blog posts.
Get the look: • Sheer top - Scanlan Theodore • White jeans - Zara • Black wedges - Nine West • Bangles - Husk • Chanel bag (real this time)
Love, Ingrid
