Think the spunky 80s vibe in Clueless, reinvented.

As one of my favourite films on my “could watch 100 times” list, the airy-fairy, typical high-school plot of Clueless caught my attention with with its helpless humour and focus on fashion; maybe I wouldn’t wear yellow plaid on yellow plaid paired with some giant safety pins, but all the same, who doesn’t love some quality 80s funk?

A testament to the slightly OTT, but absolutely fabulous style of Cher throughout the classic Friday night chick-flick, this outfit was simple to put together, simple to wear and perfectly captures this season’s focus on neutral colours and contrasting textures. The irresistible warmth of the (faux) fur paired with the softess of the (faux) leopard fur is just perfect for winter, keeping me warm and snuggly with no extra need for leg coverage. A turtleneck top is a must have this winter; super warm, super flattering and super stylish with any clothes. In this case, the inky darkness of the black is simple and classy, which balances the extravagance of the leopard and the fur out.

The decadent, eye-catching feel of the textures and colours in this outfit complement each other to form the perfect look for this winter; on trend and slightly unique. It’s like a mixture of Cher Horowitz and modern day sass on steroids, and I’m certainly loving it.

I feel like this outfit post really does channel that 80s part vibe. It was definitely fun to strut down my street feeling glamorous in the pitch-black (pretty anticlimactic as it was actually about 6pm) and to run back onto the pavement every time we saw some headlights coming round the corner. It took a while to get a photo of me walking where I wasn’t yelling “Car, run!” or mid-run. So yeah, I was pretty much living the life of an 80s party girl.
