The little black dress has hailed as an iconic wardrobe staple for females of all walks of fashion for years.

It is a garment that can be recreated in so many ways to tailor to different personal styles, and hence holds the unique power to unite women in a common representation of their interest in fashion. As the one versatile fashion essential which seems to come up at least once in every single fashion publication, the little black dress is one of my favourite themes to work with in fashion. Versatile was the key word in that sentence. Black is such an edgy base to build a look on, and can be directed in any way; grungy, elegant, formal and even colourful. In bending the rules and donning a jumpsuit as my little black dress, I have a created a look that was simple in construction and luxury in its aesthetic.

I personally find it hard to pull off gold without making it look tacky. However, when paired with black, black and black, no issues will block the way to an outfit which oozes that Holly Golightly little black dress sass. Ironic, isn’t it, as Tiffany’s are silver specialists?

In other news, Chanel upped their supermarket game with an airline themed show, Justin Bieber has been photographed nude in Bora Bora and I’m currently sitting considering the legitimacy of brushing off a jumpsuit as a little black dress.
