Every year from about mid-August until mid-January, the first thing I will say to anyone I meet is ‘gosh, I can’t believe how fast the year’s gone, tomorrow it’s spring/summer/Christmas/2016!’
Time passing quickly or slowly is a mental perspective we build in our own heads, and at one point or another, we’ve all talked about how it doesn’t feel like Christmas, or New Year. That’s because every day is just another day, and these celebration dates are labels which our society has placed on our own time system. And I love it. Every New Year gives us time to reflect on ourselves, our year and our new experiences and memories which we have accumulated.
In 2015, I’ve had an amazing year and I hope you all have too. I’ve not only fallen into the groove of blogging and (hopefully) improved the quality of my posts from iPhone camera to DSLR, and from sentences about nothing to sentences which perhaps mean something.
Let’s bring in the new year with a little micro blog post brought to you in 10 minutes. Think edgy, sparkly and all things baby pink. The floaty nature of the gorgeous silk top paired with the pastel tones of the baby pink offsets the almost-grungy matte sequins on the shorts. Perfect air circulation levels for a 40 degree Celsius evening spent in swarming crowds.
Ironically, it was all captured on a humble smartphone camera. Bring on 2016.
Love, Ingrid
