all black everything, not

Although Melbourne is known for its signature all-black militaristic uniform, the last time I remember wearing all black, is pretty much never. I love the sophistication and the low-key nature of the black look, but I’m also loving the diversity and the shock of colours and clashes which is becoming more loved and admired all over social media, and rocked by bloggers such as the How Two Live sisters.
This coat is a nice balance between a crazy statement and the classic, long cut of the garment. It’s very Melbourne, but also very orange, which means that in the name of comfort and simplicity, I downplayed the vibrant colour with some classic, run-of-the-mill black jeans and my favourite white shirt from Country Road (my one and only). Its monochrome with a fiesta on the top, and a pom pom to top it all off.
Walking around town thinking of myself as a moving fiesta was a pretty fun idea; wearing colour is so versatile, and doesn’t always have to be outrageous. Even such bright shades of orange can seem laid-back when worn in the right way, on the right day. And a bit of Harry Potter never hurts either.
